A new contest is offering entrants a chance to win a weeklong Florida Keys vacation for two as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the completion of Henry Flagler’s Florida Keys Over-Sea Railroad.
The Florida Keys Cyber-Train to Sunshine Contest includes three nights at the Postcard Inn at Holiday Isle in Islamorada and three nights in Key West at the Casa Marina, originally conceived by Flagler and now a Waldorf Astoria Resort. The winner also is to receive a $1,000 air travel card and a $250 rental car certificate. Also included is free admission to Pigeon Key, a 5-acre island that was once a base camp for railroad workers, a “dip” with dolphins at Marathon’s Dolphin Research Center and free admission to many Key West attractions.
The entry form and links to prize descriptions and rules are at fla-keys.com/flagler-centennial. The contest runs through Jan. 22, 2012 — the 100th anniversary of the first train’s journey through the Keys. Contest entry also is accessible through Keys social media sites.
